Minnesota Statewide - Vital Aging Network
Program: Vital Aging Network
University of Minnesota College of Continuing Education
Web site: http://www.van.umn.edu/
Overview: The Vital Aging Network provides resources for vital agers (loosely defined as anyone age 55 or better). In addition to providing a rich set of programs, its website provides resources that link people to opportunities for meaningful and productive activities and serves as a forum where individuals and organizations can work collaboratively to promote self-sufficiency, community participation, and quality of life for older adults.
Partners/Sponsors: The Vital Aging Network is sponsored by the University of Minnesota College of Continuing Education with participation of several other University of Minnesota centers. Other partners include the Minnesota Board on Aging, Minnesota Senior Federation, Minnesota Area Agencies on Aging, Volunteers of America, Minnesota Association for Continuing Adult Education, Minnesota Association of Senior Centers, and many other organizations that are involved in specific projects or activities.

Many good paths
Many good paths

The transition to a next chapter can involve recycling, changing, or starting a career. A 30-year executive in advertising now teaches the subject at a local college. A Marine Corps brigadier general now runs an urban hunger relief program. An avid recreational biker now helps adults learn the importance of being active.
