Program: The Next Chapter

Overview: A one-stop shop that provides connections and directions for adults age 50+ to explore what's next in their lives. One-on-one peer coaching, roundtable discussion groups, life planning seminar series, networking, and workshops are provided as The Next Chapter pathways. A resource bank is available via the Internet and in hard copy. The Next Chapter can provide direction to a wide array of opportunities, with particular focus in civic engagement, community service, employment, lifelong learning, wellness, social connections, financial planning, and care giving.
Special Features: The Next Chapter trains and develops volunteer peer coaches to provide one-on-one attention to older adults who want or need focused attention.
Partners/Sponsors: Key partners include Piedmont Virginia Community College, Martha Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, ACAC, Jefferson Institute of Lifelong Learning, University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Virginia Employment Commission, Virginia National Bank.
