There are plenty of resources for organizations seeking to tap the talents of older Americans and reap an experience dividend. There's the "New Face of Work Survey" by the MetLife Foundation and Civic Ventures, which found that half of Americans age 50 to 70 want jobs that contribute to the greater good now and in retirement. Civic Ventures also offers a wealth of other resources at www.civicventures.org.

The National Council on the Aging's RespectAbility Initiative surveyed non-profit leaders about their attitudes and practices toward older Americans. An executive summary is available [PDF].

"Reinventing Aging: Baby Boomers and Civic Engagement" [PDF] is produced by the Harvard School of Public Health and the MetLife Foundation Initiative on Retirement and Civic Engagement.

An executive summary of the AARP's report on employers best practices for mature workers is also available online: "Staying Ahead of the Curve" [PDF].
