Ten Ways Your Organization Can Realize An Experience Dividend
People Everywhere Are Working for the Greater Good in the Second Half of Life

Team Up

Many non-profit organizations insist on going it alone even when they could solve common problems by collaborating with other groups and taking advantage of common resources. The NCOA RespectAbility survey found that many non-profits are interested in sharing information about best practices, but very few are willing to invest in joint resources or services, such as volunteer coordination, marketing, transportation or insurance.

Some common resources can be tapped at very low, or no cost. Intermediary organizations such as VolunteerMatch and the Taproot Foundation can help non-profits increase their effectiveness and chances of finding qualified volunteers. Taproot claims to have enlisted over 1,500 marketing technology and human resources professionals to provide over $10 million in pro bono service to non-profits. Many companies are also eager to partners with non-profits.

Ask not...the sixties generation turns 60
